




AllergyTrails.com was born from the strong vision of its Founder, Robert Kania. The vision—a review web site where users could recognize and reward allergy-safe establishments . We worked with Robert through a full discovery process to ensure we understood his vision for the brand, the marketplace and business model.
Our work started with a focus on how to engage followers and build the community. We then moved to the technical architecture, starting with the initial Beta product, plus a roadmap for ongoing development. We condensed the whole plan into a 26- page digital strategy roadmap, complete with the business case for each stage.
This project made end-to-end use of our branding framework. We built AllergyTrails.com on top of the Joomla open source CMS. Joomla was the base framework, and then we added our special sauce. This included the open source search service Sphinx to index the hundreds of thousands of reviews and restaurants on the platform.
